Superhero Guidelines

Sir Carljoe Javier once told his LEAP class that UP was like Krypton. It was normal for everyone to have superpowers, well yesterday, after paying for my tuition fee, I attended my first junior superheros' seminar a.k.a. Freshmen Orientation.
I met up with Chantal, Sari and met Ash for the first time. We walked to the School of Economics and said hi to Vinnie. Isabel Idolor joined us shortly after, we then lined up and entered the auditorium.
I was seated next to Isabel along with the other CHE students (including the boy who likes to wear caps who was nice enough to give me his chair during the registration briefing) while Sari, Ash, Chantal and Vinnie sat with their fellow MassComm kids somewhere in the back.
Ms. Enriquez, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, looked like a nice (but smart) lady and she asked if there were any oblation scholars and this girl next to me raised her hand. She also raised her hand when Ms. Enriquez asked if there were any 15 year olds. In my head I was amazed that the kid next to me was a fifteen year old genius. It was a scary but amazing sensation to realize that I was next to her, in that room because I passed the same test she did. Being seated there, in that room filled with oblation scholars, salutatorians, valedictorians and honor students gave me a sense of accomplishment that I managed to make myself qualified to have the right to be there.
Ms. Enriquez told us that it's an accomplishment itself to pass the UPCAT and it was time for us to prove ourselves worthy to be there. It was a scary but exciting challenge.
After that they showed us two weird orientation videos and then taught us cheers. I can't seem to remember any of the things that they taught us, but it's okay, I have four years to relearn all those tribal chants.
At the end of the day, after the jeeps, rodics and running around, I can't help but be excited. I never thought I'd be a UP kid someday nor did I think I was smart enough to call myself an Iska, but life is filled with unexpected surprises.
I'M GOING TO UP! YAY!

more superhero adventures soon. :)
